TasticHive - The Backstory
Have you ever been in the pub with your mates and had an amazing business idea (at the time, anyway…), or maybe you just have an idea that you’d love to implement. You may or may not know exactly how it would work, that might need a bit of time to clarify… but because you don’t have enough time to work through it, it slowly dies a death and never becomes a real thing… or… you work it through, come up with a plan for it, which ultimately never gets implemented because you don’t know where to start, or do open the lid to the can of worms and realise it’s going to take you 6 months to create on your own, if you do umpteen courses to learn the tech you need to use as well… absolute nightmare. For me, it was a case of I need a team to help make my ideas - However, I have a day job… etc. etc. “The age old story.”
The AI revelation
In September 2025 I started experimenting with AI - and for the first time in ages, I felt excited about IT again. I could tell something what I wanted and boom! There it was… which was fine whilst it was simple and straightforward. But as soon as I started to push the envelope, it became clear that I needed to approach things differently. Rather than having an “All Rounder” doing my bidding, I needed specialists. So I started experimenting in the field of agents, with personas, skills and orchestration, to see if I could create and manage a talented development team.
After a few iterations, I got a team up and running that could work autonomously.
Consistency
The next hurdle was getting the team to work well, consistently, and to be kept honest. In all honesty, that was the most difficult thing to get a handle upon.
After all, how do you get consistency in an app that can be asked to take on anything?
Turning point
At some point, I began to think - If I need a team to help realise my aspirations, just perhaps there are other people out there with ideas who need a leg up… so I started to turn my team into a product to fill that gap for would-be founders / entrepreneurs / solo-preneurs who don’t have the time / facilities to mature their ideas, or develop them into products…
And so TasticHive was born. “The Hive” being the coding team and the discovery team these days. “Tastic” just being an awesome (fan)-Tastic idea, obvs.
A video that goes into this a bit more…
No Ties!!
I’ve tried many of the quick AI-based, managed / rapid app deployment solutions with a monthly subscription and various limitations. This made me want to not have to do anything like that ever again. I pledged to not create a monthly subscription model and make my solution a one-off payment type of deal. It’s entirely possible that you may not have continuous business ideas… and therefore, the MRR model didn’t sit right with me, so I have been as fair as possible with the business model to make this work as a solution for all.
Curious about how TasticHive can help with your idea? Start a discovery — the Hive will interview you, plan the build, and show you the documents before a line of code is written.
